2016 RACING INFORMATION

General

1, All events will be scored under the ISAF appendix A low point scoring system.

2, Allcomers racing for Club Events will be handicapped under the RYA Portsmouth yardstick scheme numbers for the current year, with the following exceptions :-

Classic F15 “A” flight = 1050  “All other flights” = 1070 conditions apply. A Novice Bonus of +50 on handicap is available at the S.C. discretion to novice racers; it shall apply to boat, helm and crew outfit for 1 racing calendar year.

Boats with a Yardstick of more than 1230 will be classed as "Slow Handicap". Boats with a Yardstick of 1230 or less will be classed as "Fast Handicap".

3, Class racing boats will include Flying15 & RS200/ asymmetric fleet. All other boats will race in the Allcomers start on Sunday afternoon races.  All races on Sunday afternoons require finishing times for all boats. Slow handicap boats will do one less lap than posted.

4, Certificates and Third Party Insurance are to be valid.

5, Race duration should be approximately 30 mins for Sprint races and 60 mins for allcomer and class middle fleet boats, and approximately 15 minutes should be allowed between the last boat’s finish and the start of the next race.

Sunday Series

Sunday racing will comprise of three single series: class, allcomers, allcomers sprint). The number of results to count shall be one more than half the number of races in that series rounded down (i.e. 12 results to count in a 22 race series).

Sunday Sprint Series

Sunday Sprint racing will comprise a single series: 4 races (2 sets 2 back to back): allcomers start. The number of results to count shall be one more than half the number of races in that series rounded down (i.e. 15 results to count in a 28 race series).

Saturday Series

Saturday racing comprises of a single series, rounded down (i.e. 10 results to count in an 18 race series).

There are trophies for both fast and slow handicap series.

Thursday Series

Thursday racing comprises one Allcomers Race in a single series for each day respectively. The number of results to count shall be one more than half the number of races in the series, rounded down.

Sunday Frostbite Series

The Frostbite series comprises two Allcomer races. There are fast/slow starts with the first starting at 13.00/13.03, race 2 at 14.30/14.33 approx. Points are worked out from ISAF Yardstick numbers. Racing comprises a single series, rounded down (i.e. 9 results to count in a 16 race series).
